Lidded Boxes

Small boxes have so many uses! They can keep jewellery safe overnight, hold car keys near the door, cache mints or paper clips on an office desk, and bring a soft elegance to any setting, for example. They feel good in the hand and can evoke fond memories of where they were found or the way they were obtained.

Many psychologists employ ornamental lidded boxes in the Worry Box Technique. This allows a person to focus on a worry they have at the moment and to deal with it by depositing the worry away in a box with a fitted lid where it can be out of mind and controlled. Other medical uses include the Beads of Courage boxes to hold the often very large number of coloured glass beads that sick kids garner for each of the procedures they undergo during therapy.

There is so much that is good about designing and making beautiful lidded boxes.
